M2MTech, in collaboration with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), held a seminar titled 'LH Elevator Integrated Management Platform Mid-term Report and Expert Seminar,' sharing progress on the world's largest AI-based public elevator integrated management system.
The seminar, held at the LH headquarters meeting room, was attended by LH headquarters and representatives from 14 regional offices, ETRI, external advisors, elevator manufacturers, and others, all of whom expressed deep interest in the digital transformation of elevator operations.
Digital Transformation: 'LH Elevator Integrated Management Platform'
LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation), the largest elevator holder in South Korea, is launching the 'Elevator Digital Transformation' project to ensure residential safety and innovate future housing. The key partner for this pioneering digital transformation project is M2MTech, a company with smart elevator solution technology.
Both organizations are in the process of building a digital platform that integrates hardware (H/W) and software (S/W) to enhance elevator management efficiency and safety.
LH currently manages approximately 24,300 elevators installed in over 5,200 public construction and purchase rental complexes nationwide, with over 1,500 units added each year. The need for a systematic management system to efficiently manage such a large-scale elevator infrastructure and predict and respond to failures and accidents is becoming increasingly urgent.
As part of the ongoing 'LH Elevator Integrated Management Platform Construction Project,' valued at 3.59 billion KRW and spanning two years, M2MTech (90%) leads the project, in partnership with Entels (10%).
At the heart of this platform is M2MTech's proprietary ELSA (Everything's Linked, Smart and Safe to All) solution, which is used as the foundational technology for the platform and connects with LH elevators nationwide in real-time.
This enables fault detection, anomaly prediction, much more efficient maintenance, remote control, and other features, expected to drastically improve cost savings and user safety.
Notably, ELSA departs from the traditional approach of handling post-failure actions, utilizing Internet of Things (IoT)-based data collection and AI analysis technology for data-based maintenance.

During the demonstration by M2MTech, real-time elevator status monitoring per complex, automatic fault registration, parts replacement and maintenance, remote inspections, self-inspection, and integration with the National Elevator Information Center were showcased, garnering significant interest and praise from attendees.
Additionally, ETRI's lecture on the "Next-Generation Elevator Platform" emphasized that the LH elevator platform's design philosophy and scalability are based on global technical standards such as ITU-T international standards and KS B 6921.
Experts from various fields, including ETRI, the Korea Elevator Safety Agency, the Korea Elevator University, the Korea Elevator Association, elevator manufacturers, and the Sungkyunkwan University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, attended the seminar, where in-depth discussions on technology application and operational strategies were held. LH employees involved in asset management and construction also participated.
The platform is expected to be launched in November, with a 'Grand Opening of LH Elevator Digital Transformation,' after pilot complex operations, nationwide user training, and feedback collection.
CEO Kim Jin-ki stated, "The future of living spaces is evolving into a smart ecosystem combining safety, convenience, and efficiency. The construction of the LH Elevator Integrated Management Platform marks a turning point in this evolution, and M2MTech will develop this platform as a global standard for public safety infrastructure."
